When it comes to fighting acne, one thing that can really help is a change in what you eat. Your diet shows in your skin, and if it is poor your skin will reflect that. By making some simple changes to what you are eating you can affect the appearance of your skin and may even be able to reduce the unsightly appearance of acne. Acne is caused when excess sebum gets trapped in the pores. When the pores are partially open, blackheads form. When the pores get completely clogged, whiteheads form. Dark leafy greens and blueberries are excellent because they're packed with antioxidants.

There are all kinds of topical acne treatment products on the market today. Some of them contain powerful medicine like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. Then there are natural and organic products that contain natural ingredients like essential oils. Topical treatments can work quite well when you're already eating a healthy diet.
